Cologne Carnival
Recently our CEMSies travelled to Cologne! π They got the chance to meet with CEMSies from Rotterdam, Paris, and Cologne and to enjoye the fantastic Carnival together π They dressed up in (very) cool costumes and spent two amazing days together eating nice food , partying, and admiring Carnival traditions.β¨π¬π»
Social week
Last week our CEMSies had an eventful week, starting with an exciting volleyball match π, continuing with a fun pop quiz night π and ending with a relaxing time in Brusselsπ». It was a great opportunity to meet the exchange students, M2s nd other cemsies afte rthe exam break. We would like to thank the Social team for the very good organization! π₯°
βSemester kick-off
Last week the incoming and Master 2 students had the chance to start the new semester on the right track. Our lovely CEMSies got to know each other over a few drinks and enjoyed some awesome burgers and quality time together ππ»
Volunteering
The week before Christmas, our CEMSies somehow turned into a bunch of Santa Clauses π π€Ά Our CSR Team had the great idea to participate in the Shoe-Box campaign organized by the non-profit organization "Les Samaritains" and sponsored by Maniet ! Luxus. The goal was to fill shoe boxes with warm clothes, food, hygiene articles, etc. ππ§€π§¦ Our CEMSies also left a short message to warm the hearts of the poeple whol will receive the boxes in this Christmas period ππ
Christmas dinner with CEMS Club Cologne and Rotterdam
Last weekend, we were delighted to welcome our CEMSies friends from Rotterdam and Cologne in our beautiful capital of Brussels π€
We started the weekend by introducing them to the Belgian gastronomy during our Christmas dinner organized in a wonderful restaurant in the center of the cityπ
πΌπ΄ Our guests also discovered a typical Belgian Friday night πΊ
On Saturday, we all discovered the Parlementarium, symbol of the European unity&friendship. We also enjoyed the beautiful decorations that were displayed in the streets.β¨πThank you everyone for this amazing weekend. We are looking forward to meeting you soonππ
Alumnight
Three weeks after the Career Path event, the Alumni team organized the long-awaited Alumnight π¨βπ¦³π©β𦳠Our CEMSies had the opportunity to meet and converse with a variety of alumni working in different sectors and being at different stages of their career. Once again, they learned the power of the CEMS network and got a glimpse of the different fields in which they could work π¨βπΌπ©βπΌ
Data ESG with WEquity
π Last week our CEMSies had the opportunity to learn more about Impact Investing and Data ESG through a conference organized by the CSR team. π
They had the chance to meet Gabriel, a former ESL student and co-founder of WEquity, a company for data ESG. We really thank him for his insightful presentation. π€©
After the conference the student got the opportunity to debate about their impact on the world around drinks and snacks.π
Career Path
On Tuesday, our CEMSies had the chance to attend the Career Path event organized by the Alumni Team π¨βπ¦³π©βπ¦³Three alumni explained what they have done since they started the CEMS Program, i.e., the organizations they have worked for and the projects they carried out π¨βπΌπ©βπΌ Besides, our CEMSies got some insights into the different obstacles or drawbacks they may face during their career. the event taking place at the Silversquare North in Brussels, our CEMSies also enjoyed diving into the world of Lous and the Yakuza who designed the coworking spaces ππ² Once agian, we would like to thank Frederic Schilling, Laurent Louvigny, and Thibaut Randaxhe for their participation.
Corporate Event at Accenture
Last week on Monday, our CEMSies gathered for the first corporate event with Accenture! πThroughout the night, we had the unique opportunity to learn more about the company itself by exploring their new sustainable offices and by networking over a glass of champagne! πΏπ₯ In addition, experienced consultants gave us their insights into the current energy crisis and how Accenture guides their clients through it.β‘π©πΌβπ»We are very thankful to Accenture for this amazing evening!
Halloween party
Trick or treat?πΈοΈπ Our CEMSies gathered for a Halloween costume party before the exam revision period. From Red evils and pirates to very creative concepts, originality and ingenuity weren't lacking! π€ͺ Through diverse activities, games, and drinks we shared a great moment together. We would like to thank everyone present as well as the Social team who contributed to the success of this evening! π₯°
Bowling
Sports are well-known to relieve stress and anxiety. So, as mid-term exams and project deadlines are coming up very fast, our CEMSies spent an evening playing bowling.π³ We all had a great time in this childish and sometimes competitive atmosphere.π€ͺ Randomly chosen teams were also the best opportunity to get to know CEMSies one would not have met yet.
Blood donation & clean walk
Our CSR team's first event took place and allowed our CEMSies to participate in a positive action!
Students had the opportunity to help to save lives by donating blood or plasma π©Έ The students overcame their initial apprehension and everything went very well! For those who could not donate, a clean walk was organized to make Louvain-La-Neuve clean again β» The students took part in the game and were divided into teams to collect as much waste as possible in a joyful atmosphere π
First social event
A new academic year has just started and the social team decided to surprise the new M1 and incoming CEMSies with a party in a local bar of Louvain-la-Neuve π» Our CEMSies had the opportunity to get to know each other better over a few drinks in a nice festive atmosphere ππΊ There is no better way to start this new adventure !

Our M2 and incoming CEMSies discovered Louvain-la-Neuve and it's night life this week! It was the perfect way to meet new people and have fun before classes started!

Christmas Dinner
Our CEMSies farewelled an incredible semester with an Early Christmas Dinner π
It was the perfect way to wish our exchange students and M2 departing a good journey and share some Christmas spirit before the holidays π
Ugly sweaters, delicious Belgian fries and an unexpected birthday were there to create the best possible event of the year. Thank you all for your participation and engagement during the Semester. It has been a pleasure sharing these moments with all of you β€οΈ
La Bourse: Make it Easy
Last Thursday, CEMSies followed a finance training to better understand the functioning of the stock exchange and the main investment principles. πThey asked themselves the good questions, decode investment funds and decide the one that suits them the most. This corporate event was presented by GrΓ©gory Guilmin, whose dream is to help 1 million people start in the stock market and be autonomous with their assets. πΈIf you are interested in following this seminar, check out @laboursemakeiteasy ! CEMSathon
This event organized by the CSR department had the goal to promote sport and cleanliness of the city of Louvain-La-Neuve. CEMSies were in group of 4 poeple and had as a common goal to combine running & cleaning as much as possible during one hour. It was basically a cleaning run where they had to maximize the number of kilometers run times the number of kilogram of crash they would pick from the street.
Sustainable Week
It was a pretty busy week for our CEMSies as @cems_alliance gave us sustainable challenges every day like eating vegan, signing a petition, having reusable items (such as our wonderful water bottle!), etc. Everyone involved itself and it was crazy !π±
Red Cross
We organised a charity event Saturday with @croixrougebe to clean surroundings, install frescoes, supervise food distribution to help migrants. Such a beautiful moment of exchange!
"How to convince in a digital world?" by Igor (Alumnus)
We got the opportunity to meet one young alumni: @igtkint . Who shared with us the adequate manner to convince in a digital world, and some tips and tricks to conduct a powerful interview!π₯ After an active presentation where we were kindly involved, we had a drink together where we could ask questions to the speaker! It was also the opportunity to have some feedbacks about CVs! π
Antwerpen
After a though week of exams, CCB organized a chill WE in Antwerp π₯° It was the perfect opportunity for everyone to gather, spend time together while drinking beers, visiting the city, going to the restaurant and of course partying!! π₯³ This 2-day teambuilding came right on time as we started fully CEMS classes just after!
Halloween
As we celebrated our Halloween Party, blood covered the floors of the Cems House and the end of our 2 week "killer game"β¦ β οΈβ οΈβ οΈ @alicecarbonnelle was crowned the most dangerous CEMSie of the cohort while our dear masters students put the effort to find the most creative costume π»
Failling Forward
We got the opportunity to meet two Alumnis : Luna Aslan (entrepreneur) and Pierre Veri (Finance), who shared with us their failures and how they overcame themπͺπΌ After a Q&A session to learn more about our guests' sectors and their different profiles we had a drink together!
"How to fight food waste?" by Michele (Alumnus)
We had the chance to meet Michele Zingaretti, a former CEMS Club Belgium president. Michele introduced us to the company he works for: Phenix, a scale-up fighting against food waste! β»οΈ
During this insightful online conference, he and his colleague Amaury explained to us how Phenix supports:
π΄ Vulnerable communities by giving away unsold products to charities
π¦ Businesses by coaching them on how to better manage their unsold stock
π Consumers by helping them save on their everyday purchases through their app
We also talked about the B-Corp label Phenix owns and about what it actually entails π±
Paintball
In order to create even stronger bonds between the CEMS Club Belgium members, there is nothing like a paintball game combining strategy, physics and audacity! ππΌ After this paintball game, the CCB members met in the famous BeBurger restaurant in Brussels and had a party together! π
Bowling
CEMSies gathered together for a bowling night in the center of Louvain-la-Neuve. The competition was intense during 2 fiery games full of fun of courseπ₯π³
